ALEXA LOUIS Executive Coordinator Joined IMA November 2024
Alexa was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In 1998, she moved to the U.S. to attend college, earning a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems with a minor in International Relations from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She later completed her MBA at the same university. Alexa currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with her two children, and their fluffy dog.
After spending 15 years in the financial markets as a client relationship manager, Alexa returned to Haiti to apply her skills to the municipality of Port-au-Prince. This role, though challenging, was incredibly rewarding and allowed her to make a direct impact on her community. Throughout her career, Alexa has been driven by a passion for serving the public and creating meaningful change.
Having lived in countries with vastly different socio-economic landscapes, Alexa has developed the ability to truly listen, empathize, and connect with people from all walks of life. She hopes her diverse life experiences can help her continue making a difference for those in need.
Alexa is a passionate advocate for autism awareness and reform as a proud mother to a beautiful autistic daughter. She is also mom to a spirited, soccer-loving son (Hala Madrid!) and a lovable dog. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, traveling, and exploring new cuisines (recently adding wine tasting to the list!).
Her dream is to visit every country in the world—she’s already been to 25. To top it off, Alexa is fluent in four languages: French, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and English.

MICHELLE HANCOCK
Assistant Director for Publications and Communication Joined IMA September 2025
Michelle Hancock brings over 25 years of experience in mentoring, operations, and leadership development through her work with the Center for Mentoring Excellence, where she serves as Director of Operations.
She credits her early career growth to the guidance of Dr. Lois Zachary, who mentored her long before she even knew what mentoring was. Michelle carries that “never stop learning” philosophy forward, most recently earning a certificate in Leading Diverse Teams and Organizations from the University of Michigan.
Boston-born and Arizona-raised, Michelle spent part of her childhood in Melbourne, Australia, before returning to the wild west she proudly calls home. Outside of work, football is her favorite season, she’s always down for a good classic car show and never tires of Arizona’s spectacular sunsets and SxS adventures in the desert. At home, she’s kept on her toes by her two sons, two boxers, and her husband, who keeps life just as lively as their boxers do.
